consider the capacities of the intellect with which all men are born as the result of Adam’s sin. We recognize that the thought is father to the word and deed. We cannot speak without first thinking of what we will say. We cannot act without first conceiving that act in the mind. The words men speak, and their actions, have their origin in the mind of the speaker or the doer. We are considering, then, that which is basic to all conduct as we examine the scriptural teaching on “the old mind” or the
